About Us
The Department of Basic Science and Humanities (BSH) at AITM, Bhatkal, serves as the academic foundation for all engineering programs and plays a crucial role in shaping the intellectual and professional growth of first-year students.
The department integrates the core disciplines of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Humanities to build strong conceptual foundations that support advanced engineering studies across all branches.
The BSH Department is committed to instilling scientific temperament, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ethical values — all essential qualities for modern engineers.
To promote innovation and hands-on learning, the department offers modern technical workshops introducing students to emerging technologies early in their academic journey: Arduino programming, Python bootcamps, Laser Cutting, and 3D Printing through the Innovation Lab.
